Introduction
Access, accounts, groups, members and roles — and what to check before you register or sign in.
Access, accounts, groups, members and roles.
- Create an Account — registration, one-time password, password rules
- Sign In — signing in, signing out, password reset and change
- Create a Group — company or team
- Invite Members — members and guests
- Roles and Permissions — what each role can do
- Switch Groups — moving between groups, leaving a group
Before you begin
Access to BIIM is restricted. Check all three of these before you try to register or sign in.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Approved email domain | You can only use a work email address whose domain has been approved (for example, you@bird-initiative.com). Personal addresses will not work. |
| Approved IP address | Applies only if your organisation has IP restriction enabled. Single addresses and CIDR ranges (such as 203.0.113.0/24) are both supported. |
| Supported browser | The latest two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge. |
If your organisation uses IP restriction, you will be blocked when working from home, from a cafe, or on mobile data unless you are connected to your corporate VPN. This is the most common cause of being unable to sign in — check it first.
If your domain or IP range has not been approved, contact BIRD INITIATIVE to have it added. Nobody inside your organisation can change these.
For other problems, see Troubleshooting. Unfamiliar terms are defined in the Glossary.
